1Corinthians 6:19-20
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Why yes, that is a picture of pizza fries. No I have not had the pleasure of introducing them to my belly, but someday I just might. You may be asking yourself why that lovely bit of food porn is on this blog. Well I'll tell you. It's because my problem is that I am fat. No that's not my only problem. And I suppose that isn't really the problem, just the consequence of a few other problems. But guess what?! We can use our newly found skills in planning and goal setting to FIX problems!!
I am going to attack this by setting some goals and planning them to completion. Ultimately I want to be less fat. I would like to have a 6 pack before I am 40. I would like to be under 200 lbs. However I have tried using those things as goals before and obviously failed at them. The same way that I think my lovable cuddly fatness is resultant from other issues, the wants that I listed above can be accomplished by setting other strategic goals that will add up to my ultimate wants.
Lets see if we can find some of the root causes that have added up to my doctor telling me I am clinically obese.
1. I eat large portions. Of everything. All the time.
2. My activity level is pretty low. All the time.
3. I have problems with consistency. In everything.
4. The only thing I like in moderation is moderation. And kale.
5. I want food that is bad for me. Fatty, salty, greasy, sweet, cream filled, slathered in butter, and dipped in ranch. Hold the kale.
That is enough for now. I'm starting to get hungry. But these are the problems that I need to address. By solving these problems I can start moving towards the ultimate goals. I want you to take a look at something you have been trying to accomplish and then list some of the issues you have had in achieving those accomplishments. Plan to fix those problems and your goals might just seem a little easier to reach. People have a tendency to create their own roadblocks and then pretend they aren't there. When friends bring them up we get defensive and pretend they are just jealous or something. We are dumb. Let friends help. If you want to be a better person you have to see where you are coming up short.
Ok rant over, plus the oven timer is going off. Pizza fries are done. I'm just gonna smell them and put them in the trash. Seriously. Just smell them.
