On Monday, October 12th, Lowell and I had the opportunity to be guests on a radio show (details below) to talk about marriage. We were honored to even be asked to be apart of the show, and we had a GREAT time talking about our marriage, our blog, and the history of "us". We talked about how we got together, how we've maintained a successful marriage, our struggles as a working couple, wife, mom, husband, man, etc. But for some odd reason, it wasn't until that night, that I (Chenee) truly realized that our marriage is in fact everything that our blog is about, ministry. Of course I knew that initially, the purpose of our blog was to reach out to people let them know that marriage can be successful, but that day, I truly realized that OUR marriage is so MUCH bigger than just Chenee and Lowell. I knew that God ordained our marriage to be a living example of what He intended for marriage to be, but hearing myself speak it over the airwaves, and to the hosts and my husband helped me see things from a different perspective. It helped me realize everything He is specifically using us for, and that it is to build of His kingdom.
I'm not sure why it was that one particular night that helped me view my marraige from a different lense, but it has been on my mind ever since, and it has made me want to not only be a better woman/wife to the man that God specifically created me for, but it showed me that people are watching me through Gods lense. It's kind of weird to explain, because I've known this the whole time, but it's like I see I t from a new light, a better way, a different view. Maybe it's a revelation, or maybe I just never saw it as clear as I did that night. But I just find it amazing that God is willing to use little ole me (and Lowell) to spread His light and word. So because of that, I'm holding myself and my marriage to a different standard, a higher one, because I have to represent my husband, and my God in a positive light!
So if you're going through somethinging in your personal life, if you're confused about what's going on in your life, if you're wondering why things aren't working out the way you want them to now, know that everything is happening for a purpose. The word of God in Romans 8:28 says "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." If you truly love God, and if you truly trust Him, He's using your situation for a specific purpose! Be open and willing to go through it, no matter what. Count it all joy!
So I don't know what God has in store for our blog or our ministry, but one thing I know for sure is that He makes no mistakes, His timing and purpose is perfect, and as long as we can be vesels to His glory, we're in for the ride!
